Within the Village

St Peter's Church
The parish church dates back to the 12th century, however a major restoration took place in 1871. The current vicar is The Rev John Bell. For services and events visit this website.

The Green Dragon
A "proper" village pub with good food and drink – hosted by Peter (many single-handed Atlantic crossings in small yachts) and Alix Crowther. See website.

Stoke Fleming Primary School
A highly regarded school – declared "outstanding" in recent OFSTED report – see Devon County Council press release

The Village Hall
Used by many clubs and societies plus other organisations and individuals for a wide variety of activities and functions. Stoke Fleming Library operates within the Village Hall three days a week.

Stoke Lodge Hotel and Restaurant
A three star hotel is hidden away in a narrow lane in our village. See website for details.

The Brill Plaice
Seafood restaurant at 1 New Road. Also serves take-away fish and chips from the rear window. Open Spring to Autumn.

Post Office and village store
Run by Lesley and Bob. Thankfully, it seems to have survived the recent round of Post Office cuts – long may that continue to be the case.

Premier Garage and mini-market
Newspapers and a mini-market (somewhat smaller than a supermarket!) as well as garage facilities.

Leonard's Cove Caravan and Camp Site
Near the southern end of the village with cliffside views over Start Bay – for facilities, see website.

Deer Park Caravan and Camp Site
Near the northern end of the village with views over Start Bay – Deer Park Inn is on the site. For facilities, see website.

Youth Club
A smart dedicated building in the heart of the village.

Bowling Green
A well maintained bowling green, home of the Stoke Fleming Bowls Club

Within the Parish

Blackpool Sands
Beautifully maintained beach which regularly wins the international Blue Flag award for quality in water, facilities, safety and environmental management. For facilities see website.

Venus Beach Café and Shop
Located at Blackpool Sands – the café serves food made from local produce and organic ingredients whenever possible. See website for more detail.

South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path passes through Stoke Fleming with some of the most spectacular stretches nearby. A new section passing close by Blackpool Sands and on to Strete was opened in 2006.

Fast Rabbit Farm
The woodland garden is filled with exotic semi-hardy plants from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It is open to the public on Sundays and Bank Holidays between March and September.
