| Christmas Tree Festival | |||
| St. Peter’s Church is holding its second Christmas Tree Festival – a winter project involving the whole village. Local businesses, the school, clubs and societies have taken up the challenge to each sponsor a 5 foot Christmas tree, decorated and lit to a theme of their choice, positioned around the inside of the church. We have increased the number to a maximum of 30. The Festival is open Friday and Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 10 am – 4.30 pm when there is a short Closing Service. There will be refreshments in the back of the Church. Car Parking is available nearby, and also by kind permission of the Primary School Headmaster, in the school’s car park. ‘To see the church and village come together is such a wonderful feeling’ ‘. . . once again, utterly magical. The sheer beauty of it was there for all to see – but the feeling of community and friendship was palpable, and easily as moving as the spectacle’ ‘It was so moving to see the love and care put into the decorations. The Prayer Tree particularly brought tears to my eyes’ ‘Cool . . .’ |
Admission is by donation and our funds this year are to be shared between St Peter’s Church and Devon Air Ambulance Trust. As a church we aim to be open and outward looking towards the needs of others and we chose this charity for our second year because of its care for everyone. Christmas celebrates the birth of a child – Jesus – God’s gift to us. So come and see the decorated trees. Celebrate the Christmas Season. Communicate the Message of Christmas. ![]() Peter and Gill Barker – 770556 Bob and Jenny Norman Event organisers |
